Full National Championship Bracket
MACON, Ga. - The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) received two bids to the inaugural NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship as Florida State and Georgia State heard their names called among the eight-team field. The Championship will be this upcoming weekend in Gulf Shores, Ala. May 6-8.
The Seminoles made history becoming the first-ever No. 1 seed in the Beach Volleyball National Championship following a 29-1 record this season. Florida State captured the inaugural CCSA Championship last weekend at the Rally Volleyball courts with a perfect 5-0 record. The team is led by the top pair of Julie Brown and Jace Pardon, the 2016 CCSA Pair of the Year and Pair of the Tournament. They defeated Georgia State in the final match to take home the first trophy.
The Panthers will also be representing CCSA at the NCAA Championship as they earned a No. 7 seed in the inaugural Championship field. Georgia State is led by CCSA Coach of the Year, Beth Van Fleet who has guided her team to a 26-8 record. The team's top pair of Jansen Button and Sara Olivova has carried them all year long, while Milani Pickering and Delaney Rohan earned All-Tournament recognition at the CCSA Championship.
The Championship begins on May 6th and will follow a double elimination bracket format. Florida State's first match is scheduled for 10 a.m. against No. 8 Stetson, while No. 7 Georgia State takes on No. 2 USC at 12 p.m. Live streaming coverage of every court in each match of the tournament will be available on NCAA.com.
