Three of the top four seeds swept through their pools, as #1 Florida State, #2 LSU and #3 FIU earned byes to the quartefinals. Frasca and Bianchin's three wins came against ranked opponents, including a triumph over the top pair from #3 Florida State.

In just there first week playing together this season, the pair notched a 4-0 record at the FIU Surf 'N' Turf and helped LSU finish with a 3-1 mark for the weekend. All four of Beyer & Ligon's victories came against ranked opponents.
