CCSA Announces Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Jan. 9

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Incarnate Word freshman Mariana Ruvalcaba Cruz (Tijuana, Mexico) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while teammate and graduate student Savanna Meadows (Austin, Texas) is the Women's Diver of the Week for meets contested Jan. 1-7, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

Ruvalcaba Cruz competed in the 100-yard breaststroke against UC San Diego and San Jose State and placed second with a time of 1:04.86. She then swam the 200-yard breaststroke and placed second again where she finished in 2:20.62.

Against UC San Diego and San Jose State, Meadows placed first in the 1-meter dive with a final score of 283.90, and finished eighth in the 3-meter dive with 208.25 points.

 

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Michelle Case (Campbell), Hannah Burdge (FGCU) and Prudence Rooker (Liberty).

Also nominated for Diver of the Week: Amy Schools (Liberty).
