CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – FGCU sophomore Liz Zeiger (Cumberland, R.I.) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Georgia Southern junior Hannah Mudge (Marshfield, Mass.) is the Women's Diver of the Week for meets contested Dec. 11-17, the CCSA announced Tuesday.
Zeiger competed last weekend against Big 10 competitor Northwestern. She took the top spots in two of the longest events and contributed a total of 18 points to the team's overall score. In the 1000-yard freestyle, she captured a time of 10:10.82. She then followed that up with a 5:01.15 in the 500-yard freestyle. Both times were season-bests, and her 1000-yard freestyle finish is the fastest time in the CCSA to date.
Mudge was the Eagles' most consistent diver in Georgia Southern's dual meet at nationally-ranked Florida International last Thursday. She placed second in the 1-meter dive with 216.90 points and third in the 3-meter dive with 200.40 points.
