CCSA Announces Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week - Dec. 5

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – For the second time this year, Howard junior KaSandra Kaplan (Detroit, Mich.) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Liberty junior Amy Schools (Clinton, Md.) is the Women's Diver of the Week for meets contested Nov. 27- Dec. 3, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

Kaplan's finishes this past weekend were some of the best in Howard's swimming history. Her lead-off leg in the 200 free relay of 23.93 broke the school record, and along with her teammates, broke the overall relay school record and the meet record. Her 57.32 backstroke leg in the 400 medley relay also broke the school record and helped her team to another first place finish. Kaplan finished the meet with another first-place finish in the 100 fly (57.40), which was her third school record at the meet.

Schools posted her first career victory in the 1-meter springboard diving event at the Central Virginia Duals where she posted a score of 216.15 last Saturday. Her point total is the most by a Lady Flame in 1-meter springboard so far this season and placed her fifth in program history for the event.
