CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Howard sophomore Sidrell Williams (Kingston, Jamaica) has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, and NJIT sophomore Cole Becker (West Berlin N.J.) has been named the Men's Diver of the week for meets contested Nov. 27- Dec. 3, the CCSA announced Tuesday.
Williams helped lead Howard to the victory at the Yellow Jacket Invitational where he placed in the top 3 of every event he entered. He opened last weekend's meet with a 21.3 split on the lead leg of the 200 free relay. He then won the 50 with a time of 20.79. In the 100 fly, Williams finished 2nd overall, 50.47. In the final session, his performance in the 100 ree not only broke the HU school record, but also broke the meet record with a time of 45.22.
Becker placed third in both diving events this past weekend at the ECAC Winter Championships. He recorded personal records in both the 1-meter dive with a 165.55 and followed with a score of 140.5 in the 3-meter dive.
