MACON, Ga. – Florida International’s pair of Savannah Davis and Natalia Giron posted four wins at the FIU Surf and Turf Invitational to earn this week’s Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week honor, announced by the league office on Tuesday.

The pair has been the most consistent in the sand for the Panthers all season and proved it once again this past weekend. The duo began the FIU Surf and Turf Invitational defeating South Carolina in straight sets, 21-14 and 21-16. They would follow that up with another straight set victory over fellow CCSA competitors Tulane by the score of 21-17, 21-12.  

Davis and Giron concluded the Invitational with two more victories against fellow CCSA league competition. They took down the Florida Atlantic pair in three sets, winning the decisive set 15-11. Against No. 8-ranked Georgia State, Davis and Giron secured a straight-set victory to close out the event 4-0, all wins coming against fellow CCSA competition.

With the victories, Davis has moved into the top-10 on FIU’s all-time wins list, while her playing partner Giron is only five wins away from cracking the top-10 herself. The Panthers now head to the popular Fiesta on Siesta Keys tournament this upcoming weekend where they face TCU and Grand Canyon.
